The December Daily Dash was established in 2015 by Jackie and Mark Smith as a tribute to Jackie’s parents, who succumbed to cancer. The event involves running 5k every day in December, inspired by the compassionate care provided by Sue Ryder. Initially a small group, the December Daily Dash has grown in popularity, raising over £430,000 to support Sue Ryder’s palliative, neurological, and bereavement services, with more than 2,000 people participating in the challenge over the years.
