Charming Bingo verdict

Charming Bingo is a relatively new site founded in 2015 and sporting some nice photo art. This is a Jumpman Gaming site, in the 15 Network with Dove Bingo and Elf Bingo. You’ll find a fun welcome bonus here, but will the site charm you into staying?

design & Usability

You arrive at Charming Bingo to see a very luscious site, with a background of red bricks, red cherries and golden touches. They don’t have a mascot per se but seem to use cherries a lot, along with a photo piece showing a happy lady. The style is quite warm and it’s used on several pages, not just the home page.

You can find your way easily here thanks to plenty of information packed onto the home page, even a Facebook link. Promotions can be found as ‘specials’. The site doesn’t redefine bingo sites by any means, but it’s very well made and presented indeed.

customer Support

The help section is a little bland on this site, but it is very useful, having a list of pertinent facts and questions. The site offers a phone line and email for contacting the team, with live chat sadly missing.

The team seem to be very clever and quick to reply, but a big downside here is lack of live chat, because the phone line is only open until 6pm. Evening and night players will have to wait.

bonuses & Promotions

Charming Bingo makes an effort in the promotional department. To kick off we have the iconic Jumpman wheel, which is a kind of randomised welcome bonus. You begin with a 200% bonus on your first deposit, then you spin the wheel to see what extra you get. This ranges from £5 to £2500, a very tempting extra indeed! Note, however, that this money is bonus cash and must be played through four times before withdrawing.

Other promotions on site use the Charming art and logos, which is great. They offer some special jackpots and free bingo, plus a few bespoke promotions like a January Sales giveaway, which is a slots competition. The site offers up to 24 free bingo games in a given day and a few well-known Jumpman offers, such as the chance to win a Friday night takeaway!

software & Gameplay

The Charming Bingo lobby loads with their sumptuous red artwork and it’s pretty fast. The lobby is well arranged with your controls at the top and tabbed bingo at the bottom, but the bingo rooms are not well presented, lacking any artwork.

Going into the bingo you’ll see a neat if slightly cramped setup, where you need to close mini game to see chat properly. Still, chat has plenty of options and the bingo itself looks pretty good, if a little basic. We found chat to be active on this site which is an immediate plus point, though there were no hosts around in the early afternoon. This is bound to change at peak times.

device Compatibility

You have access to a simple mobile layout if you visit the site on your phone or tablet browser. The mobile site is a template rather than being specifically Charming Bingo themed, but it’s good and easy to use. You can swipe left and right to visit different sections. On the downside, the bingo display is quite basic and doesn’t include chat.

The site does not have any apps for download or have a page to direct players to the mobile site.

safety & Security

Charming Bingo is fully licensed and regulated, by the UK Gambling Commission. You can see details of this license on the home page, at the bottom. They do not have an up-to-date security certificate for your browser, but they do offer full encryption for your payments, so your details are safe.

The site has a responsible gaming section with special controls to combat problem gambling. You also have the seal of approval from SQS here, who test sites for fairness.

variety & Originality

Variety is not a strong point at Charity Bingo, which has just 90 ball and 75 ball on offer, with just five regular rooms. None have any artwork or special twists. There are however three extra free bingo rooms, one of those being VIP only and one for newbies. There are five jackpot rooms too, counting a VIP only game, which at least gives you something to look forward to. The site needs something to make it stand out, or just more choice.

There are plenty of slots on this site, with something for everyone. They could use a few more big names but they do have the classic and much loved Starburst.

payments & Withdrawals

You can bank quickly and easily at Charity Bingo thanks to a simple form in the account section. You won’t need a minute to fill this in. However, the minimum withdrawal is high at £30 and seems to suggest waiting 7-14 working days.

The site only accepts debit and credit cards, which puts it way behind other operators. They do accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Solo and Maestro, but no e-wallets at all.

VIP Programme

The loyalty system at Charming Bingo is very limited. There is no formal page to explain what you can get, but there are mentions in the FAQs and terms. Players can accrue loyalty points as they play, which later convert to cash with 1000 points equalling £1.

VIP customers are offering a chance to win daily free spins for the Fluffy Favourites slot, on the games lobby. This is a nice little extra, along with VIP free bingo and jackpot bingo, but it’s unclear how you become a VIP.

conclusion

Charming Bingo is a pleasant site which offers a lot of games and promotions, but for all the sparkle and warmth of the main site, the actual bingo still feels quite old and clunky. This site is mostly a nice veneer over a standard offering. Having said that, everything is of good quality and a busy chat community really adds value.
