First launching in 2014, Mirror Bingo is the official bingo site of The Daily Mirror. Backed by a strong brand and PlayTech's Virtue Fusion software, Mirror Bingo should be a sure hit with players, right?
Like a lot of other newspaper branded bingo sites (most notably
Sun Bingo), Mirror Bingo opts for usability and player experience over clever or bright design. That’s not to say the site looks bad - it’s just fairly plain.
Everything is formulaically laid out, making life easy for the user and improving the quality of the site. It just lacks thrills.
When seeking support at Mirror Bingo, players have three main contact options available - phone, email and live chat. Live chat can be a little temperamental (we found it unavailable for short periods), but players in need of help have a good amount of options available to them.
In addition, Mirror Bingo also supplies a decent FAQ section, with some bingo guides for new players too. The majority of players will skip over this, but it’s helpful content for anybody who needs it.
Very few sites offer as varied a range of promotions as Mirror Bingo. On the Promotions page, players will find loads of offers to pick and choose from, and all offer something different, whether that be deposit bonuses, daily scratchcards or real prize giveaways.
Best of all, there’s a few high value exclusives in the range. For example, while we were visiting the site, there was two sets of theatre tickets to be won, and this offer was only available to Mirror Bingo players. This adds a lot of value for players at Mirror Bingo, and makes the site more attractive all around.
Mirror Bingo uses PlayTech’s Virtue Fusion software, meaning players can enjoy a great bingo experience with exclusive variants and games. That includes Rainbow Riches Bingo and Cash Cubes, although the latter is not available on desktop for some reason.
For more details about PlayTech’s Virtue Fusion platform, keep an eye out for our review of the software - coming soon!
Mirror Bingo’s mobile experience is hindered by non-responsive design, and a mobile site which isn’t quite as fluid as you might expect. On top of this, a lot of the site’s promotions seem to be unavailable to mobile players, which is pretty frustrating.
iOS players who aren’t fans of the mobile site can download an app version of the site, but this option isn’t available to Android players currently. It’s tough to recommend Mirror Bingo to mobile players in its current state.
Mirror Bingo is fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and features a variety of industry standard features to protect and support players. That includes deposit limits, reality checks and time outs. If you need any information on these features, it’s all available on Mirror’s responsible gaming page.
In Mirror Bingo’s lobby, under the Bingo tab, players will find a pleasingly big list of “exclusive” rooms. However, upon further inspection, most of the games/rooms listed in this category are multiplayer slot rooms, which are linked with other sites. Somebody needs to go back and tidy this category up a bit.
Anyway, Mirror Bingo does have one exclusive bingo room - Pennies From Heaven. It hosts three different sessions every day, and most exclusive offers can be found here, including some free bingo games. Once you’ve signed up, it’s well worth sticking your head into this room to see what is happening.
There’s an exclusive slot game to try out too - Mirror Reel News. It’s not a superb range of exclusives, but it does offer something a bit different for players, outside of the usual PlayTech range of slots and casino games.
Mirror Bingo offers three different payment methods - debit/credit cards, Paysafecard and PayPal. Some e-wallet providers are missing, but most players will be able to use their method of choice when making a deposit or a withdrawal.
The site should also be commended for keeping wagering requirements reasonable. When accepting a bonus, players face a 3x bingo requirement and a 30x slots requirement, which is pretty low when compared to other sites.
With a four-tier VIP system, high depositing players can earn plenty of rewards with Mirror Bingo. VIP players earn exclusive cashback rewards, deposit match bonuses and a bunch of exclusive offers.
Mirror Bingo’s VIP programme is invitation only, so the exact requirements for entry are unclear. This is a little frustrating, but it does seem that the bronze tier would be quite easy to get into, and the minimum rewards seem pretty good once you are there.
Overall, Mirror Bingo is a pretty good site. It offers excellent exclusive promotions, which help make the site rewarding to registered players, and also makes up for some weaker parts of the site.
Mobile players should approach with caution, but desktop players should find little fault with Mirror Bingo.
