Having first launched on Gamesys, Sun Bingo moved to PlayTech's Virtue Fusion platform in August 2016. Quite a surprising move for a site the size of Sun Bingo - did the move benefit it?
After moving to Virtue Fusion, Sun Bingo decided to make very few changes to its design and layout. In fact, it's near identical to the version that was hosted by Gamesys, and less like that found on Mirror Bingo and Paddy Power.
This was presumably done on purpose, as Sun Bingo's neat, clean design has become fairly recognisable. It supports the brand nicely, and helps players move around the site with ease. There are not many thrills, but it does the job it needs to do.
Players looking for support have three different contact options available to them - Live Chat, phone and email. On Sun Bingo's Help page, you'll find opening times for each form of contact too, which helps players see what's available and when.
Best of all, the Help page is available from Sun Bingo's lobby, so there's no messing about - if you need support, it's available quick and easily.
Sun Bingo has a sizeable range of exclusive promotions, and they all offer something a bit different. From prize giveaways to big money jackpot games, each offers value in their own way. They are also updated on a monthly basis, usually themed around current events.
Of course, Sun Bingo also supplies a range of standard Virtue Fusion promotions, including linked games with other sites on the network. There is also a learner room, free daily bingo sites and a variety of monthly bonus codes.
All in all, it’s a good range that offers a lot for players who visit the site regularly.
After moving from Gamesys in 2016, Sun Bingo has found a new home with PlayTech's Virtue Fusion platform. However, at the time of writing, Virtue Fusion exclusive variants like Cash Cubes and Rainbow Riches Bingo were missing from the site. Players moving across from Gamesys are unlikely to notice their absence, but it would still be good to see them added further down the line.

Update (06/10/16) - In the past week, Sun Bingo has added some extra PlayTech variants to its roster of games, including Cash Cubes and Deal Or No Deal Bingo. As a result, we have increased this score to five stars.
Sun Bingo has an iOS app available for players using an iPhone or an iPad, but there's no Android equivalent. Instead, all other mobile players will need to visit the mobile site from their browser, which is a less optimal experience.
However you access the site with your phone or tablet, you'll find a good quality mobile bingo experience. The vast majority of the site's games are available on all devices, and all account functions can be accessed too. Besides the missing Android app, Sun Bingo ticks all the boxes for mobile players.
Update (17/10/17) - Following Google Play's acceptance of gambling apps on the Google Play Store, Sun Bingo has now expanded to offer an app for players with Android phones and tablets. As a result, we have increased Sun Bingo's Device Compatibility score to the maximum five stars.
Sun Bingo is fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, and also has a big Play Responsibly section. With industry-standard features like deposit limits and reality checks, the site has everything in place to help players be safe and secure online.
A site as big as Sun Bingo should have a wide range of exclusive games and PlayTech have done a good job of supplying exclusives to their newest addition. In the Lobby, you'll find an Exclusive section under Bingo and Slots, highlighting these games for players.
On the bingo side of things, the site has a number of exclusive rooms, each with different offers and ticket prices. Sun Bingo also has a decent range of exclusive slot games, including branded titles like Winning Headlines and Mystic Meg. These aren't quite as exciting as the bingo offering, but if you're looking for something new to play, these games are high in quality.
Popular bingo rooms include:
- Cash Cave (90 ball network)
- All Winners (Qualify in the Candy Room)
- Hearts (80 ball)
- Showboat Room (Speed bingo)
- Glamour Room (75 ball)
- Bargain Jazz Room (Penny bingo)
Payments and withdrawals at Sun Bingo can be made with a Debit/Credit Card, a Paysafecard or a Skrill account. That's a good set of options, but PayPal is an obvious miss here.
Players at Sun Bingo are also helped by low minimum withdrawal levels. Once wagering requirements are met, players can withdraw a minimum of £10, which helps make bingo more affordable for many. The wagering requirements are a fair standard too, with a 3x bingo and 30x slots requirements. It could be improved, but it's a pretty fair standard.
As always, you may be asked to provide proof of address, your payment card or photo ID upon withdrawal.
Update (17/10/17) - Sun Bingo has now updated to offer PayPal and Apple Pay as payment options.
Sun Bingo's loyalty scheme is a perfect example of how successful these schemes can be for players and sites alike.
Once players have entered the VIP system (exact figures needed to enter the scheme are unlisted), they will start earning benefits like Daily Cashback and Weekly Deposit Matches. As players move through the tiers, these benefits grow and become even more rewarding.
At the top tier (Platinum), players also earn exclusive benefits like dedicated support teams, and access to VIP events and trips. It's a scheme that rewards big spending players without alienating others - everybody can earn some form of benefit through Sun Bingo, and that makes this a big win for the site.
Sun Bingo has been one of the biggest bingo sites in the UK for some time, and with PlayTech’s Virtue Fusion software backing it, that looks set to continue. With an excellent VIP scheme, exclusive games, and great promotions, Sun Bingo gets all the crucial parts of the bingo experience spot on. Once the Virtue Fusion exclusive variants are added to the site, it’s going to be hard to top.
