Get Minted Bingo is one of the UK’s oldest online bingo sites. It was created by Cashcade Ltd in 2005 and launched shortly before the same company went on to launch Foxy Bingo, the latter of which is now one of the most popular bingo brands in the UK. These days, Get Minted Bingo runs on Dragonfish software and is operated by Cassava Enterprises Limited, but it’s taken a very different path to its sister site, Foxy. It offers three bingo variants, daily, weekly, and monthly jackpot games, and a 100% welcome bonus.
So, is Get Minted really where all the big winners are made or do you stand about as much chance of making money by joining a get-rich-quick scheme?
With graphics that could give Teletext a good run for its money, Get Minted Bingo is – to be fair – an outdated eyesore. Against a vast black background of nothingness, there’s a multi-coloured section that proudly announces the availability of “instant play bingo!” and a “live in-game chat” service – both things that online bingo fans have now been enjoying for well over a decade.
Above the main navigation bar, there are tabs marked Bingo, Instant Win, TV Gameshow, and Casino, which when clicked take you to Get Minted Bingo for the first option and Foxy Casino for the other three options. This might be rather confusing unless you’re aware that both sites are owned by the same company. The main menu lets you move between Play Bingo, My Account, Getting Started, Preview Games, and Support. As we’ll explain later, the absence of a Promotions page is very noticeable.
While the homepage is abysmal, the lobby is a whole different story due to the Dragonfish software that the site now uses.
Like most Cassava-operated sites, Get Minted gives you three options for contacting customer support: the Help Room (which is manned by agents 24/7), telephone (9 AM to 1 AM, 7 days a week), and email.
As the homepage states, there’s a 100% signup bonus worth up to £100 to claim when you make your first deposit of £10 or more, and it comes with an average wagering requirement of x4.
Are there any other promotions, though? Well, that’s a very good question, as there’s no mention of promotions anywhere on the desktop site, even once you’ve logged in. This is extremely frustrating. However, after having a light bulb moment, we realised that the latest offers might be listed on the mobile site and indeed they are! That said, they’re pretty disappointing as they’re not unique to Get Minted, and only feature special jackpot games like Sure Win (a monthly £5k game), The Big £10k, Grab a Grand, and Late Night Show.
If there’s one redeeming quality of Get Minted Bingo, it’s that it uses Dragonfish software. So, once you escape the horrors of the antiquated homepage, you’re met with a fully functioning, easy-to-navigate lobby where you can explore the 90-ball, 75-ball, and High 5 Bingo rooms, Money Makers, daily jackpot games, slots, and free bingo rooms.
The lobby and games load quickly, and there’s an advance buy facility, as well as various options that let you alter the chat, daubing, sound, and in-game settings.
Almost all the rooms are moderated by chat hosts when open, who are quick to welcome you and can help answer any questions.
As the website looks like it’s barely been updated since it first launched, there’s no dedicated mobile page. If you’re aware of how Dragonfish sites work, however, you’ll know that you can play using a smartphone or tablet by visiting the website in your device’s web browser. The mobile version of the site contains no branding except the brand’s logo, but once you sign in (or register), you’ll find all of the bingo rooms are available along with a diverse range of slots and casino games.
The selection of bingo games is good, and the addition of High 5 and speed games to the traditional 90-ball and 75-ball offerings is a benefit. Depending on your VIP level, you can access one or more of the four free rooms, and there’s even one for non-funded players. In total, there are more than fifteen rooms to choose from, some of which host big jackpot games.
Plus, there are well over 200 slots, video poker games, scratch cards, and casino games, including Starburst, Fluffy Favourites, Rainbow Riches, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Live Automatic Roulette, Baccarat, Deuces Wild, and Keno.
All of the games comes as standard with the Dragonfish platform, so you won’t find any exclusive titles.
You can fund your account using Paypal, Wire Transfer, Entropay, Paysafecard, Neteller, Visa, and MasterCard. You must deposit at least £10 and if you wish to cash-out, you can submit a withdrawal request of £20 or more. The withdrawal processing time is the same as other Cassava Enterprises bingo sites. Requests are put into a “pending status” for 48 hours and are processed on the following working day.
The loyalty plan will be a familiar sight for those of you who’re accustomed to the Dragonfish network. It has four tiers, which you can ascend by collecting jewels with each deposit. Members of the higher levels get the most generous perks such as cashback (up to 15%) free spins (up to fifteen), and free Big £10k game cards. As loyalty/VIP programmes go, it’s OK, but if you want to get above levels 1 and 2, you’ll need to spend upwards of £7,200.
Get Minted Bingo needs some serious attention from its owners to bring it into the 21st century. Not only does the homepage need a makeover, but a promotions page and mobile page need to be added. Although the site offers no original games or promotions, it benefits from reliable, fast and easy-to-use Dragonfish software, and has three bingo variants and over 200 modern slots and games to choose from. It’s certainly not the best Cassava bingo site on the block, but it probably has enough to keep some players happy.
