Flume Casino verdict

Just two months after launching Spins Royale, the Tau Gaming team has brought us another Nektan-powered online gaming experience called Flume Casino. The site went live just before Christmas 2017, and it offers an extensive collection of live dealer tables, casual games, slots, and table games from brands such as Microgaming, Elk Studios, and NetEnt that can be played on both PCs and mobile devices. But, is Flume Casino set to give you the wildest ride of your life?

design & Usability

Flume Casino follows the usual Nektan casino layout with the members’ area (where you can login or create an account) situated at the top of the page, and the welcome bonus banner directly underneath it. The lobby takes up the rest of the screen, and lets you have a thorough look through the full collection of games using both categories and filters. An expanding live chat tab is located at the bottom.

The format of the website is easy to follow, but the lack of effort that’s been put into personalising the out-of-the-box template is very disappointing. The Flume Casino logo is just the word “FLUME” in shades of blue that we’re guessing is supposed to emulate water. Apart from this, the only thing that sets the casino apart from its sister sites is its odd purple-and-blue background.

customer Support

Flume Casino makes no mention of its support hours, but it does encourage you to get in touch using live chat, telephone or email. The FAQ (while not searchable) may also help answer your query, and it’s divided into sections such as banking, technical issues, registration, games, and bonuses.

bonuses & Promotions

When you make an initial deposit of £10 or above, you receive twenty-five free spins for the Starburst slot rather than a fixed percentage of bonus funds. In our opinion, this is more akin to a no-deposit offer than a welcome bonus, and is unlikely to appeal to players who are keen to deposit higher amounts. Also, your free spins are only worth 10p each, so you’re unlikely to win much while using them. Plus, you must meet the 30x wagering requirements within seven days if you wish to convert your winnings to real cash.

Recently, Nektan has decreased the number of monthly promotions that it offers, which isn’t the fault of Flume Casino, but it does have an impact on new and existing members. On our last visit, the only special offers apart from the welcome bonus were a £10,000 slots prize draw and a VIP Vegas holiday competition, the latter of which awarded the VIP with the most cash wagers a trip to Las Vegas.

software & Gameplay

Flume Casino runs on Nektan proprietary software, of which the main benefit is the sheer number of software providers you can choose from. There are twenty-two software providers in total, which include big brands such as Microgaming, Scientific Games, IGT, and NetEnt, as well as smaller software companies like Merkur, Foxium, Gamevy, and Core Gaming.

The software platform provides members with a smooth playing experience and an easy-to-use banking system. However, the weekly downtime (which occurs while new games are being added) can be frustrating if you like to play first thing in the morning.

device Compatibility

It would be useful if Flume Casino had a page to explain how to play on your mobile as there’s very little information to go on. But, from our knowledge of the Nektan platform, our team is aware that it’s fully optimised for smartphones and tablets. So, although there aren’t any Android or iOS mobile apps, you can still enjoy an impressive range of games by logging-in to your account via your mobile browser.

safety & Security

Flume Casino is regulated and licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and the Government of Gibraltar. The section titled “Fair Games” explains how the site uses a Random Number Generator (RNG) to randomly generate fair results for the casino’s games, and the RNG has been externally certified by NMI. Payout reports are also published. Plus, SSL encryption software keeps your personal and financial information secure at all times, and the casino uses a secure URL (N.B., HTTPS).

variety & Originality

As we mentioned earlier, there are twenty-two different software brands represented at Flume Casino which is pretty impressive and helps players to broaden their horizons.

For online slots, you’ve got IGT’s Golden Goddess and Cats, Aristocrat’s 50 Dragons and Werewolf Wild, Big Time Gaming’s White Rabbit and Bonanza Megaways, Blueprint’s Jungle Jackpots and Vikings of Fortune, Core Gaming’s Rosella’s Lucky Fortunes and Balthazar’s Wild Emporium, Elk Studio’s Hong Kong Tower and Route 777, Foxium’s Lucky Bakery and The Odd Forest, Iron Dog’s Blood Queen and Neon Jungle, Lightning Box Games’ Astro Cat and Pixie Gold, Merkur’s Blazing Star, Microgaming’s Agent Jane Blonde and Moby Dick, Nektan’s Meow Money and Best of British, NetEnt’s Warlords and Flowers, NextGen’s Monster Wins and Justice League, Realistic Games’ Symmetry and Hot Cross Bunnies, and SG’s Hercules High & Mighty and Rainbow Riches Pick ‘n’ Mix.

You can also play jackpot slots like Vikings of Fortune, The Pig Wizard, Super Diamond, and MegaJackpots Golden Goddess.

The live dealer tables are provided by Evolution and Extreme Live Gaming, and include Ra Roulette, Golden Ball Roulette, Dream Catcher, Speed Baccarat, Blackjack Party, Three Card Poker, Caribbean Stud Poker, and many more.

The table games include Felt’s fun Blackjack series (e.g. Perfect Pairs, Buster Bet, Lucky Lucky Bet, and 21+3), an assortment of other blackjack games, American Roulette, Oasis Poker, Pontoon, Punto Banco, and Texas Hold’em.

Finally, the instant wins and casual games range from Gamevy’s Epic Gems, Diamond Deal, and Spin Lotto to IWG’s Big Money Slingo Bonus, Cash Buster, and Fast Buck Lucky.

The only “exclusive” games are produced by Nektan, but they can also be found at all other Netkan-driven casino sites.

payments & Withdrawals

You can fund your Flume Casino account via debit and credit card, Boku (Pay by Mobile), Paysafecard, Neteller, and Skrill but, sadly, no Paypal as yet. The minimum that you can deposit and withdraw per transaction is £10 and £20 respectively, and withdrawal requests take an average of three working days to be processed.

VIP Programme

Flume Casino uses the same Privileged VIP Club that is found at other Nektan brands. As it’s an invitation-only scheme, you’re unlikely to be invited to join unless you wager significant sums of money. However, should you gain access to the ranks of the elite, you can expect to receive weekly bonuses, deposit rewards, free spins, cashback offers, and more.

conclusion

Being part of a white-label network makes it hard to stand out from the crowd, and while Flume Casino has a particularly appetising selection of games, it fails to strike a chord with its theme and welcome offer. For a more generous welcome package and a fun playing environment on the same network, we suggest that you look at Pots of Luck.
