Gambling MP resigns
Blackpool South Tory MP Scott Benton has resigned after a gambling lobbying scandal a year ago. He was suspended from parliament in early 2023 after he made some questionable promises to a gambling business regarding early access to an unreleased white paper. The gambling representatives were actually undercover reporters.
Wazden goes mobile
Wazdan is partnering with The Phone Casino to offer customers mobile-friendly slot releases. This will expand Wazdan's UK presence and will enable them to list games on several of The Phone Casino platforms including vegasmoose.com and bingotg.com.
National Lottery firm, Allywn sales increase
The new National Lottery operator, Allwyn, has admitted a strong close to 2023.
This week, they announced figures for 2023 as a whole and also for the fourth quarter of last year.
For 2023, Allywn said they experienced a 98% increase in total revenue year-on-year on a reported basis and a 12% increase in EBITDA (both of these exclude the acquisition of Camelot UK).
For the fourth quarter of 2023, revenue also increased (by 4% year on year).
Gender Pay Report highlights bonus differences
The latest Gender Pay Gap Report from Entain highlights significant bonus gap differences yet low hourly pay gaps.
The median hourly pay gap in 2023 was 4%, compared to 3.2% in 2022 and 5.3% in 2021.
The bonus figures highlight that 65.3% of male workers received a bonus in 2023 compared to 60.3% of female workers. The median gender pay gap in bonuses was 59.6% in 2021, which changed to 44.4% in 2023.
