Is a wedding in Vegas binding in the UK?

In a word, yes. Getting married in Vegas is just as legally binding as getting married in a church or registry office in the UK.

However, before you can get hitched, you’ll need a Las Vegas wedding license which can be attained at an onsite or downtown clerk, or online. The full details can be found on the Clark County Marriage License Bureau.

You’ll also need:

  • Proof of age such as a driver’s license, military ID card or government-issued ID card.

  • Two witnesses who are unrelated and at least 18 years old.

If you want to experience a Vegas wedding without it being legally binding, head to The Cosmopolitan or Chapelle de l’Amour where you can have a fake one.
