What happened to Cozy Games?

In the years since its launch in 2005, Cozy Games developed into a favourite provider among online bingo players, offering tons of bingo-related sites with some very attractive welcome bonuses. Try to search for Cozy Games now, though, and nothing seems to come up, with the old website simply displaying a message reading: ‘Sorry, website closed’. So what became of this hugely successful provider?

In 2017, in a practically unannounced move, Cozy Games saw itself bought out by gaming giant GVC Holdings, through its subsidiary ElectraWorks Limited. This gave GVC Holdings access to all games and software developed by Cozy Games.

In 2019, GVC made the decision to get rid of the network of Cozy Games white label bingo sites from its range. This meant the loss of popular sites like Bingo Hero, Comfy Bingo, Love My Bingo and Viking Winners.

Shortly afterwards, GVC notified the Gambling Commission of its intention to scrap the original licence held in the name of Cozy Games, instead transferring all its bingo brands to its ElectraWorks licence and effectively shutting the original brand down.

GVC rebranded itself as Entain in November 2020.

Since the takeover, as well as moving existing games across to its own platform, Entain  has used the software acquired after the sale of Cozy Games to continue developing a new range of sites and games.

Where can I find Cozy Games sites now?

Although Cozy Games may no longer exist as a provider, the Entain range continues to develop and expand, and there are plenty of sites to discover. Some of the more popular ones include Cheeky Bingo, Foxy Bingo and Coral Bingo.

Since acquiring Cozy Games, Entain has also offered some improvements on the original offering. A more varied range of slot games is available, plus even more generous welcome offers and more user-friendly terms and conditions.
