The West Midlands is most exposed to gambling harms
New research by GambleAware showed that problem gambling is 25% higher in the West Midland than the national average (168,000 adults). GambleAware’s latest campaign to reduce gamlbign stigma so that more people seek support, revealed the numbers.

The new campaign, by GambleAware, aims to support gambling harms and highlight the issues associated with excessive gambling. The billboard in Birmingham states, “Gambling clouded everything I did.’
The Chief Executive Officer of the UK Gambling Commission, Andrew Rhodes, said, “It’s wonderful to witness the ongoing progress of the GambleAware stigma campaign, along with the unveiling of the new billboard in central Birmingham. He added, “Acknowledging the courage it takes to initiate conversations about gambling, any efforts to dismantle barriers to addressing gambling harms are truly appreciated.”
