New regulation changes for UK bingo sites

The UK Gambling Commission has outlined a number of regulation changes which will be affecting all bingo and casino sites shortly.

Sites have been displaying Terms & Conditions information on promotional banners for a few months, but new regulation requirements will see these extended.

“Significant T&Cs” must be displayed below all banners which directly link to an offer. Minimum deposits, exact wagering requirements and game restrictions must all be detailed below an offer, among other details. You can see an example of this from 888ladies below.

Another significant change will greatly affect Spin The Wheel promotions. All prizes featured on the wheel must be obtainable and the exact odds of each prize need to be displayed too.

Promotions need to have a Full Terms & Conditions page accompanying them too. These will be extended to highlight wagering contributions, minimum withdrawal amounts and bonus policy to players.

All these moves will help make sites more transparent and improve the player journey. You’ll be able to see more information about each offer, letting you make an informed decision about accepting it.

It will significantly alter the design and layout of some sites, but it will help sites promote responsible gambling more too.

These changes will be rolling out on every UKGC licensed site throughout the month. We expect most to be fully compliant by the end of April.
