A New Era in Global Gaming Regulation
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) are enhancing their collaboration in the global gaming industry.
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), enhancing their collaboration to set higher standards in the global gaming industry. This partnership marks a key milestone as both regulatory bodies unite to boost consumer protection, combat criminal activities, and address gambling-related harm.
The MoU promotes improved information exchange, enabling the MGA and UKGC to tackle shared challenges with greater efficiency and cohesion. By sharing insights and best practices, they’re committed to safeguarding players and fortifying regulatory frameworks worldwide.
Advancing global gaming standards together
A key objective of the new MoU between the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) is to tackle shared regulatory challenges more efficiently. By pooling resources and expertise, the regulators aim to strengthen processes in critical areas like anti-money laundering (AML) and sports betting integrity.
This collaboration enables both organisations to take a proactive stance against illegal gambling, ensuring they uphold the highest industry standards to protect players and maintain fair, secure gaming environments.
According to the MGA website, UKGC CEO Andrew Rhodes said: 'We welcome this agreement as a sign of our continued collaboration between the MGA and the UKGC. We’ve been working closely for some time now, and following our successful visit this summer, it is only fitting that we formalise our working relationship.'
